The Bateleur Class Battle Cruiser is the second largest ship class in the modern Royal Navy to be massed produced. Slightly smaller than the Eagle Class Battleship, the Bateleur Class is slightly faster and more manoeuvrable. Designed not long after the start of the current 5th Wars, the Bateleur Class was to take the supporting role along side the more famous Eagle Class. This it would perform admirably when introduced into the war, and quickly proven to be a highly regarded vessel as a back up Flagship for many large Royal Fleets. Unlike the Eagles, the Bateluer operate in Packs usual up to three ships per pack. Making them a powerful force in a battle. While lacking the more advanced and older Phaser systems on the Eagles and Hawks, the Bateluer is still a formidable ship class, and it is very unlikely for the Bateleur to faze out of production. During the Harpy Incident, the RSS Reliant a Bateleur Class, took over as the leading ship of the Royal Navy after the Princess's flagship the RSS Purity an Eagle Class Battleship was destroyed by the ISS Ephialtes a Unicron Class Super Battleship of the Imperium. The RSS Reliant survived the Battle and was recommended as a backup Flagship for the Princesses should they lose their current Flagship the RSS Sovereign, another Eagle Class Battleship, in any future battles.
