The Goshawk Class Support Cruiser, was a very unusual ship class for the royal Navy of the Angel Kingdom. Developed just before the our break of the current 5th Wars, the idea of the Goshawk is to support the Osprey Class Attack Cruisers. Due to the Ospreys lack any rear facing weapons for self defence, the Goshawks would often act as a back up vessel, like having a wingman in a dog fight. The Goshawk, almost never saw production and only several hundred of these ships were made before the war began. But in one of the largest defeats suffered to the allies by the Imperium early in the war, 9 of these Goshawks performed rear guard action to save the rest of the fleet, destroying all Imperial Cavalry Class Light Cruisers that tried to chase them.
Ospreys fond greater use for the Goshawks as the war Developed, and often 2 packs of Ospreys are supported by a single pack of Goshawks. Otherwise, most Goshawks are kept as reserve ships should withdraw be needed to be covered.
