Honour Guard Commander Adrian Gold is the first Honour in the Angel Kingdom and the only Honour Guard to have a Commander Rank. Adrian Gold was known as Prince Adam's personal child hood friend and their Friendship was never broken only until the Prince's death. Adrian and Adam were the ones who founded the Spartan Legions and together were the first. Adrian was treated like an equal to Adam and their Friendship not for once was ever challenged. Adrian would fight for Adam just as Much as Adam would fight for his friend. Adrian God's current location is unknown as he was last seen boarding the colony ship the RSS Golden Eagle and he and his colony was never seen again.
Adrian's origins is not fully documented due to the era of his birth which was the closing years of the age of Darkness. Said to be a common boy from a run down area of the London district of Britain City. He was about the same age as Royal Prince Adam and had been the Prince's closest companion throughout their youth. Adrian was said to have shared a room with Adam and even shared ideas. Adrian was perhaps the person who prompted Adam to make their dream a reality of unit the Angels under the banner of the Kingdom and end the strife to which the Black Market was total dominant power in the western Milky way. He trains with Adam to become soldiers and he and Adam became the very first Angels to be genetically enhanced. Adrian never left Adam's side during the early days of liberation of Earth, and never planed of leaving his childhood friend sides until the very end. Adrian's loyalty to his friend is unshakeable but most remarkably Adam treats Adrian as an equal like a true friend closer than brothers.
Adrian Gold is a formidable warrior and equal to Adam's prowess in absolute equal terms. Is was said when they are in a training arena they would fight each other to a stalemate with no one superior to the other. One famous duel between the pair lasted for 8 hours straight, only to end with both Spartans delivering a punch so hard to each other's head that they've knocked each other out, cold. A quote was made by Commander Thermal, who along with an audience of have the crew, Spartans and passengers on the flagship witnessed the spectacle, stated "Well they've put up an awesome show."
Adrian fought alongside Adam during the Crusade and even can command entire sections of the Crusade for Adam, thanks to his position of rank. Throughout the Crusade Adrian on numerous times has shown himself to be a capable commanding officer as he easily gains respect form a majority of Legion Commanders and their Company Commanders. On a few Occasions when Adam is absent for some reason or another and can command the Crusade quite well, but stays true to Adam's intensions and try to put an end of the war with as fewer casualties as possible for any side.
When the Imperium invaded Adrian became more involved in commanding sections of the Spartan Legions and the Crusade fleets to counter the Imperial threat. Despite how good he is the good intensions of Adam of inflicting as little casualties to both their own and the opponent as possible was only causing the loss of more Spartans thus had go all out in order to halt the Imperial Legions. Adrian suffered fewer injuries during the whole crusade and the retreat from the Imperium than Adam. Often Adam gets mortally wounded being a warrior who stands out the most and Adrian from a distance looks like a normal Spartan.
When the Pyro Empire joined the fray and made first contact with the Angels Adrian was the first Angel to Speak to Emperor Magnius as Adam was mortally wounded during the battle prior to the Pyros' Intervention via drop pod assault.
Adrian, over time became increasingly worried for Adam, as he as no heirs and no wife, thus has been the man urging the Prince to return to Earth to find himself a girl to bond with. This eventually led up to Adam meeting young Eve Avonwing and the love at first sight between the pair was easily noticed. During that time of Adam being on Earth, Adrian remained with the remnants of what is left of the Spartan and Royal Forces. He worry for Adam increases over the next 25 years as Adam was desperate to return to his teen wife and have a child. Adrian went with Adam to a system near the green nebula outside the Galaxy and he too along with his friends were horrified of what they saw. Adrian became worried for Adam again as the prince after the incident at the Green Nebula was not himself and wasn't cooperating with any of his friends, this upset Adrian as they've been friends for almost all their lives. 3 Days later does Adrian finally gets to speak his mind with Adam, who oddly didn't remember a thing for the last 3 days. With their Friendship still intact Adrian and Adam planned the biggest and last operation the Spartans would undertake as a whole, to board the ISS Unicron. During the Battle of Earth, Adrian and Adam fought together on the Imperial Flagship and takes on the Emperor Sithien the Wise. Adrian survived the bout with only a few broken ribs and a mass driver bolt to the gut, but he was still capable of flying an Eagle Fighters. Although as much he wanted to be on Adam's Eagle, Adrian has to carry the mortally wounded Storm down to Earth in his Fighter and thus the last time he saw Adam alive was in the Hanger of the ISS Unicron before they left, leaving a fatally wounded Commander Crows with a detonator for all the phase charges planted on-board.
Adrian was heavily grieved when he heard that Adam was killed in the dog fights and when he saw his friend's body he openly cried for the loss of his childhood friend. He moved his Loyalty to Eve and hoped to comfort the teen widow, but this too didn't last as a week later she was slain by Imperial Actions. Adrian and 19 surviving Spartans has only one person left to follow, the orphaned Royal Princess Athena. As she grew up they weren't permitted to tell Athena what happened to both her parents nor tell her there is a war on. Adrian felt his loyalty and honour was insulted by this action and was hotly opposed to the Command Council over ruling the Duke of Britain's legal authority as a deputy head of the Kingdom. Relations between Adrian and Athena began to strain because of being forced to lie to her on every occasion. But until Athena learnt the truth and witness war first hand does he explains what has happened to her parents. He gains the much needed trust of Athena and became her first Spartan Officer. And he teaches her the ways of war thus making her into an outstanding warrior as she is of today.
Athena then visited the Green Nebula against the wishes of Adrian and the Spartans that have been there and discovers what was the cause of their fears. The Godcons.
Athena later in the war after the Death of Pegasus fears that the Angels as a species is finished, thus wanted 20 Colonies to flee the Galaxy and get as far away as possible, she also added that Each Colony will have a Spartan as their Guardian. Adrian hated to leave Athena as much as he hated to leave Adam's side in the past but he couldn't and wouldn't disobey the daughter of a friend he knew for so long, thus boarded the RSS Golden Eagle and was never seen again nor his Colony.
